Frequently asked questions
Yes, the DigiTube is even IP45 certified. As with all Perfectpro speakers, this speaker is moisture and rain resistant and does not let either in.
Bluetooth is more energy efficient than Wi-Fi, for example. Bluetooth energy consumption depends on the Bluetooth version installed on the telephone. The 4.0 version, developed since 2010 and used in the more recent models of iPhone and Samsung Galaxy, is very energy efficient.
Simply via your mobile phone’s Bluetooth menu. Select “PPDIGITUBE” in your mobile phone’s Bluetooth menu. No PIN codes or similar are required.
I want to stream music via Bluetooth, but do not want my incoming phone calls being heard over the DigiTube radio (e.g. for privacy or excess noise). Is this possible?
Yes, it is. If you accept an incoming call on your mobile phone then the call goes through your mobile phone and not via the DigiTube radio.
Is there also a telephone list in the radio to make calls with, can I read text messages via the radio, can I receive photos via the radio, etc.?
No, the DigiTube is a unique problem-solver to ensure you remain contactable while working but it is not a telephone or data exchange. However, by holding the radio’s telephone button down for a moment you can redial the last number you called.
If I use my rechargeable drill near the radio the latter fades away. When I stop the sound returns. How come?
Sometimes if I move my DAB+ radio even just 50 cm indoors I have better reception.
With DAB+ signal reception, moving the radio a short distance, even just a few dozen centimetres, can make a huge difference to the signal level. This is typical of DAB+ radio reception.
The length of time a rechargeable radio plays for on a full charge can never be given precisely as it depends on a number of factors, including the type of music played (e.g. music with more bass requires more power), the volume selected (the higher the volume, the more power used), the ambient temperature (a battery produces less power in low temperatures), the age of the rechargeable batteries, etc.
The DigiTube plays for up to approximately 1 working day on a full charge (at an average volume level of 20/40, at room temperature – depending on radio reception and music type).
An average of 10 metres or more in open spaces. But this greatly depends on the type of mobile phone (the strength of the Bluetooth signal emitted by this telephone) and the presence of any intervening walls and doors. Via the “connected” LED on the front of the DigiTube you can always see immediately whether your telephone is still connected or not.
If you become disconnected from Bluetooth when leaving for a moment, as soon as you return within range connection will be restored automatically.
No. Once it is connected the radio only recognizes your mobile phone. Only if you purposefully disconnect in the radio’s Bluetooth menu can another mobile phone be connected to it.
Yes, this is possible, no problem.
Yes, the DigiTube’s microphone is rain resistant.
